Italian companies in Genoa show interest to invest in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, May 31, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador of Ethiopia to Italy, Demitu Hambisa discussed with representatives of Confindustria Genova, a trade and industry association based in Genoa.

The Ambassador briefed the company representatives under Confindustria Genova on the burgeoning investment opportunities in Ethiopia, legal issues and measures being taken by the government to create favorable climate for foreign investors.

Representatives of Confindustria Genova, for their part, expressed keen interest to invest in Ethiopian in renewable energy, agro- industry and horticulture sectors.

Confindustria Genova also announced preparations to organize a platform to promote Ethiopian coffee in Genoa.

Ambassador Demitu affirmed government’s commitment to facilitate enabling conditions to help the companies under Confindustria Genova better explore investment opportunities in the country.
