It is time for Ethiopia and S Sudan to deepen bilateral relations: President Kiir
Addis Ababa, September 8, 2020 (FBC) –Former President and Special Envoy of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Mulatu Teshome met with South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir in Juba yesterday.
They discussed ways on how to best serve the interests of Ethiopia and South Sudan by jointly developing infrastructure projects, roads and electricity in particular, to link the two countries.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Minister for Presidential Affairs, Nhial Deng Nhial official invitation will be issued by the Ministry of Roads and Bridges to their Ethiopian counterparts to send their technical team to Juba to start on the agreed road project connecting Ethiopia and South Sudan, at various checkpoints through Gambella-Akobo-Bor.
He added President Kiir said it is time for South Sudan and Ethiopia to deepen their bilateral relations by putting focus on various infrastructure projects to expedite the process of economic integration of the region.
The former Ethiopian President, Mulatu Teshome said that they look forward for the realization of these infrastructure projects between Ethiopia and South Sudan.
The governor of Jonglei State, Denay Chagor, also attended the meeting, according to office of the President of South Sudan.
