Irreechaa celebrated colorfully at Hora Harsede in Bishoftu
Addis Ababa, October 2, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopians drawn from several parts of Oromia and the nation at large have celebrated the Irreechaa thanksgiving festival at Hora Harsede, a lake in Bishoftu town.
The attendants clad with colorful traditional attires and costumes gathered at the lake early in the morning to mark the end of the rainy season and the onset of the brighter spring season, and praise God for his blessings.
People in groups flock to the lake chanting songs, waving clubs painted in the Aba Gada tricolor of black, red and white. Aba Gadas, Hadhaa Sinqees, government officials and guests attended the colorful festival.
Aba Gadas called words of blessings in a melodious manner while attendants responded accordingly to thank God for the rain, fertility and light he bestowed upon the earth.
