Irreecha Hora-Finfinnee celebrations underway in the capital

Addis Ababa, October 7, 2023 (FBC) – The 2016 E.C Irreechaa festival celebrations – Hora-Finfinne Festival- is being celebrated in Addis Ababa.

The Hora-Finfinne festival commenced with the blessings of Abbaa Gadaas.

The Irrechaa Festival celebrations is beng attended by Abbaa Gadaas, Haadha Sinqees and a huge crowd of people.

Furthermore, the festival is being celebrated under the theme “Irreechaa: a Symbol of Unity and Fraternity”.

Irreechaa, the Thanksgiving Day of the Oromo people, is annually celebrated to mark the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the harvesting season. The festival is observed to thank God for his blessings that the people cherish.

The grand public festival brings together millions of people from all corners of Oromia region and the country as well as diaspora community.

It is a special stage in which the people display its cultural and spiritual values including beauty, aesthetics, and unity to the world where cultural singing and dancing are common.
