Irrecha Festival Celebration Starts with Panel Discussions
Addis Ababa, September 29, 2021 (FBC) – The Oromo thanksgiving festival of Irrecha has begun to be celebrated in panel discussions at various sub-cities of Addis Ababa.
Reminding Ethiopia’s immense wealth of culture & history, Addis Ketema Sub-city CEO, Yitayal Dejene, noted that with Irrecha the Oromo people have promoted reconciliation and harmonious living for centuries.
Lideta Sub-city Prosperity Party Deputy head, Ashenafi Berehanu , for his part said Irrecha has to be observed in line with the age-long tradition.
He indicated that formation of new government in Addis Ababa and second successful filling of Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) adds enjoyment to the Irrecha feast.
Addis Ababa is prepared to mark this year’s ‘Hora Finfine Irrecha’ on October 2, 2021 open air welcoming celebrants from around Oromia, it was indicated.
Irrecha as well as is celebrated vibrantly at the beginning of October every year in the beautiful town of Bishoftu, at Lake Hora Arsedi.
