Addis Ababa, October 12, 2020 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Immigration Nationality & Vital Event Agency (INVEA) last week opened a new official point of entry between Ethiopia and Kenya.
The third entry at the border of Kenya was established with support from the European Union (EU) and Germany, according to a statement by EU in Ethiopia.
The new post will serve to increase trade, facilitate safe, orderly, and regular migration and address human trafficking and smuggling of migrants, it added.
Tewodros Bogale, Directorate Director of Border Control said ‘The post will strengthen the economic, social and cultural interaction between the two countries.’
The EU and Germany support the management of regular and safe migration through the Better Migration Management Programme (BMM).
