INSA’s cybersecurity initiatives empowering Ethiopia’s digital future
Addis Ababa, October 18, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Information Network Security Administration (INSA) Deputy Director-General Daniel Guta emphasized that INSA is diligently concentrating on cybersecurity to achieve the Digital Ethiopia 2025 Strategy and ensure a successful transition to a digital economy for Ethiopia.
As a panelist at the GITEX 2024 Expo in Dubai, under the title “Ethiopia 2025 Strategy and Cyber Security,” Daniel highlighted Ethiopia’s efforts to strengthen cybersecurity as part of its 2025 digital strategy.
He identified national digital identity, electronic payment systems, and cybersecurity as critical components for the success of Ethiopia’s 2025 digital transformation. Daniel emphasized that significant progress has been made to ensure the cybersecurity of the country.
INSA is focusing on five key issues to achieve its mission of ensuring Ethiopia’s cybersecurity: ensuring ownership of knowledge and technology, institutional excellence, construction and protection of key infrastructures, national and international partnership and cooperation, and preparation of policy and legal frameworks.
At the forum, Daniel emphasized the important role played by the Ethiopian capital market and other similar institutions in facilitating Ethiopia’s digital economy.
He added that INSA is fulfilling its role to ensure the safe transition of Ethiopia’s digital economy and to achieve the goals of the Digital Ethiopia 2025 strategy.
