Inkomoko agrees to provide support for 150,000 MSEs in Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, October 5, 2022 (FBC) – The Ministry of Labor and Skills – Ethiopia (MoLS) has signed a cooperation agreement with Inkomoko to work together on providing business training and consulting services to micro and small enterprises in Ethiopia.
Inkomoko is an advisory firm and impact investor that helps entrepreneurs focusing on refugees in East African countries.
This non-governmental firm is expected to invest 21 billion Birr to help micro and small scale enterprises in its new strategy.
The project, which will be implemented in eight countries, is also believed to last until the end of 2030.
Inkomoko has provided support to more than 41,000 entrepreneurs in Ethiopia and Rwanda in the last 10 years.
The organization operates in the cities of Jigjiga, Addis Ababa and Asosa in Ethiopia.
It has also been working in collaboration with Dashen Bank S.C since last April to facilitate loans to enterprises.
Minister of State of Employment and Market at MoLS, Nigusu Tilahun, stated that the organization has held discussions with the Ministry on a strategy to empower 150,000 micro and small scale enterprises in Ethiopia.
Inkomoko, in turn, expressed its interest in collaborating with the Ministry for enterprise development and job creation across Ethiopia, including in refugee hosting communities.
