Indian External Affairs Minister inaugurates chancery building in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, June 22, 2022 (FBC) – Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, the Minister of External Affairs of the Government of India has inaugurated the Embassy of India’s Chancery building and Residential Complex today in Addis Ababa.
The Minister of Women and Social Affairs, Ergoge Tesfaye (PhD) and State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Tesfaye Yilma, have attended the inauguration ceremony.
Diplomats of various countries and the Indian community in Addis Ababa and other dignitaries were also in attendance of the event. Ethiopia and India have been enjoying longstanding bilateral relations, and the two countries have signed agreements in trade and communication sectors in a bid to cement their ties in several areas of partnership.
It is to be recalled that India has stood by Ethiopia in international platforms including the UNSC particularly at a time when it faced pressures from the west in the pretext of recent developments in the country.
