India-Africa ICT Expo to be held in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, August 1, 2023 (FBC) – Demeke Atnafu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to the Republic of India has conferred with Director General of Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC).

The “India-Africa ICT Expo” is set to be held from 9-10 August 2023 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Ethiopian embassy in New Delhi has confirmed.

It is stated that the ICT Expo brings together over 40 telecommunication and ICT companies from India and aims at building partnerships between Ethiopia and India in telecommunication and ICT industry sectors.

India has experiences in building telecommunication and IT infrastructure with fiber and wireless networks, broadband connectivity solutions, ICT software and applications and Ethiopia is desirous to share by way of investment, said Ambassador Demeke.

He further stated that the Government of Ethiopia has been undertaking steps to liberalize and privatize the telecom sector since 2018 and the opening of Ethiopia’s telecom sector offers key opportunities for innovative Indian companies.
