IGAD Executive Sec. commends PM Abiy Ahmed for his leadership in achieving CoHA

Addis Ababa, June 12, 2023 (FBC) – On his official statement at the 14th Ordinary Session of the IGAD Assembly of Heads of State and Government, Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Workneh Gebeyehu, commended Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia for his leadership in achieving the cessation of hostilities agreement (CoHA) and silencing of the guns in Northern Ethiopia.

“This historic milestone marks a significant step towards peace, stability, and reconciliation in the region, IGAD’s Executive Secretary said adding the Prime Minister’s dedication to dialogue and peaceful resolution has proven instrumental in bringing an end to the bloody conflict, fostering an environment of trust and understanding among the parties involved”.
