ICRC President meets with Chief of Somali regional state
Addis Ababa, January 13, 2020 (FBC) –Deputy Chief Administrator of the Somali regional state, Mustefe Mohammed, received today President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Peter Maurer.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the humanitarian assistance being provided by ICRC to people affected by ethnic violence in the region.
Following the invitation by the Somali regional state, the Committee resumed its operations in 2018 after 11 years of absence.
The ICRC President arrived in Addis Ababa yesterday for a three-day official visit.
Maurer is expected to meet with President Sahlework Zewdie and other government officials.
