House approves draft proclamation establishing National Dialogue Commission

Addis Ababa, December 29, 2021 (FBC) – The House of Peoples Representatives has approved the draft proclamation for establishment of the National Dialogue Commission with majority vote, 13 abstained and 1 against.

It is to be recalled that on December 10, 2021, the Council of Ministers discussed the draft proclamation establishing the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission and passed a draft proclamation it referred to the house.

Following the decssion, Ministry of Justice along with various stakeholders has been collecting inputs for the establishment of the National Deialoge Commission through continued consultative meetings.

One of the commitments the government promised when it was elected in the 6th national election was to work for national consensus and establish a common ground on national issues through inclusive national dialogue.
