House of Peoples’ Representatives approves appointment of five new ministers

Addis Ababa, October 29, 2024 (FBC) – The House of Peoples’ Representatives has approved the appointments of five new ministerial officials with majority vote.

The newly appointed officials include Gedion Timothewos (PhD), Minister of Foreign Affairs; Hanna Arayaselassie, Minister of Justice; Kassahun Gofe (PhD), Minister of Trade and Regional Integration; and Selamawit Kassa, Minister of Culture and Sports.

Additionally, the House ratified the minutes from the 4th year 1st regular session and endorsed President Taye Atskeselassie’s opening speech delivered during a joint session of the House of Peoples’ Representatives and the House of Federation on October 7, 2024.
