House approves extradition treaties signed with Djioubti, Rwanda
Addis Ababa, June 25, 2020 (FBC) – The House of Peoples Representatives has approved proclamation of extradition agreements which Ethiopia has signed so far with Djibouti and Rwanda.
The house is holding its 5th year 17th regular session at Prime Minister Meeting hall today and passed decisions on various issues.
The parliament has approved appointment of five members to the national reconciliation commission nominated by Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahme to fill vacant positions in the institution.
Reverend Dereje Jemberu, Demelash Yadete, Dr. Ezra Abate, Fatuma Hasse and Garad Kulme Mohammed have sworn in before the house as new members of the reconciliation commission.
The house has also ratified the draft proclamation for the African Union flag, anthem, and African Day celebration referred to it by Foreign Relations Peace standing committee.
Members of the parliament have also ratified the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
The parliament has also signed draft bills related to Mining Works, Investment Extension and mutual Protection of Sustainable Investment agreement signed between Ethiopia and Qatar, Loan agreement signed with International Development Association to tackle desert locust swarms.
Loan agreement signed with International Development Association to implement Second Growth and Competitiveness Development Policy has also been approved by the house.
