HoPR Speaker expresses his sadness over death of former US Senator Jim Inhofe
Addis Ababa, July 10, 2024 (FBC) – The Speaker of the House of People’s Representatives of Ethiopia, Mr. Taggese Chafo, has expressed his sadness over the death of former US Senator Jim Inhofe.
In a message published on his social media page, Mr. Taggese said that Senator Jim Inhofe was a true friend of Ethiopia in times of happiness and in times of trouble.
Note that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed also expressed his sadness over the death of Sen. Jim Inhofe on Tuesday, stating, “Former Senator Jim Inhoffe was a principled man and true friend of Ethiopia. I’m saddened to hear of his passing. He will be truly missed. May his soul rest in peace.”
“Sad to hear former Senator Jim Inhofe is dead. Senator Inhofe was a true friend of Ethiopia in good and bad times. Rest in Peace,” the Speaker noted.
Former Sen. Jim Inhofe, a conservative known for his strong support of defense spending and his denial that human activity is responsible for the bulk of climate change, has died on July 9, 2024, at the age of 89.
Inhofe, a powerful fixture in Oklahoma politics for over six decades, died Tuesday morning after suffering a stroke during the July Fourth holiday, AP reported citing his family’s statement.
