Historic town of Harar hosts road running to display support for GERD

Addis Ababa, June 5, 2021 (FBC) – Hundreds of residents of the historic town of Harar have today participated in a road running to display their support for successful completion of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

The road run came at a time when the trophy of the GERD is travelling across several districts and towns of Harari region. More than 4 Million Birr has been mobilized from people in 4 woredas amid the Trophy Travelling event.

The road race organized under the theme “I run for GERD” is also aimed to maintain public mobilization towards the dam.

Higher officials of the Harari regional state have handed over trophies and medals to participants who finished the race from 1 to 3 ranks.
