Health Minister says TPLF vandalized over 1,000 heath facilities

Addis Ababa, November 19, 2021 (FBC) – The Health Minister Dr. Lia Tadesse stated that the terrorist TPLF has vandalized more than 1,000 health facilities in areas it occupied.

Dr Lia said forces of the terrorist group have inflicted a huge devastation on health facilities including hospitals, health care centers and posts in Amhara and Afar Regions.

The criminal group and its allies looted medical equipment, and deliberately destroyed the facilities, putting the health care service at stake in several parts of the two regions.

Facilities destroyed by the criminal element include centers that were giving maternal and child health care services.

She added that many have been now exposed to catastrophic situations due to the devastation of the health facilities due to criminal acts of the terrorist group.

Activities have been carried out to restore some 20 health centers and resume services accordingly in areas peace has been restored, She said.

Apart from the two regions, insurgents in allegiance with the TPLF terrorist group have caused serious damage to health facilities in Oromia and Benishangul Gumuz regions.
