Health Minister Lia Taddese receives Women Leaders in Global Health Award
Addis Ababa, March 9, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Health Minister, Lia Taddese, received the 2023 Women Leaders in Global Health Award for her outstanding leadership in health development.
It was stated that the award was given during the closing ceremony of Africa Health Agenda International Conference (AHAIC), held in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Women in Global Health Award is given to African women leaders who focus on overcoming and solving obstacles in health development, quality and equitable access to health services and universal health service coverage. They are also deemed to be role models for future generations.
Accordingly, Health Minister, Dr. Lia Taddese received the recognition from Amref Health Africa for her outstanding leadership role.
Other recognized African women include Prof. Senait Fisseha, Dr Matshidiso Moeti, Magda Robalo, and and the late Dr. Sindi van Zyl.
