Health Minister, Africa CDC DG discuss strengthening collaboration in public health
Addis Ababa, May 5, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Minister of Health, Lia Taddese, met with Jean Kaseya, the new Director General of Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).
During the meeting, they discussed strengthening collaboration areas in public health emergency preparedness and response capabilities, vaccine and pharmaceuticals manufacturing, strengthening primary health care, health systems and more.
After her discussion with the Africa CDC Director-General, Health Minister Lia Taddese underscored that building a strong continental institution [Africa CDC] will be instrumental in driving the sustainable development of health systems in Ethiopia, the African continent and beyond, to attain the vision of the “Africa We Want”.
“I look forward to closely work together and wish him a success in building a strong continental institution that will be instrumental in driving the sustainable development of health systems in our country, the African continent & beyond, to attain the vision of the #AfricaWeWant”, the Minister tweeted after her meeting with the Africa CDC DG.
