Heads of missions urged to underpin reforms of Ministry of Defense
Addis Ababa, January 5, 2022 (FBC) – The FDRE Minister of Defense, Abraham Belay, called on Ethiopian ambassadors and heads of missions representing the country all over the world to undertake tasks to strengthen the reforms being implemented by the Ministry of Defense.
The Minister attended the training being delivered to the heads of missions, senior staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and affiliate offices in the African Leadership Excellence Academy in Sululta. He briefed the diplomats and heads of missions about the reform works being implemented by the Ministry of Defense.
He stressed that Ethiopian ambassadors and heads of missions assigned to different countries should work hard to trigger necessary assistances to the country’s defense forces in order to ensure physical, intellectual, arms, information and technology advancement.
Following his consultation with the diplomats, the Minister wrote on twitter stating, “I am pleased to have spent an elevating consultative moment with our globally posted diplomats at the African Leadership Academy.”
“Defense, as a key instrument of national power and effective tool of deterrence was discussed with such a liberating enlightenment,” he added.
The discussion was held in the presence of the State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, according to MFA Ethiopia.
