Harari region announces enhanced preservation of historical Jugol Wall

Addis Ababa, February 1, 2023 (FBC) – Chief Administrator of the Harari Regional State, Ordin Bedri announced that the regional government has been intensifying preservation and protection of the historical Jugol Wall.

The Chief Administrator has inaugurated greenery and preservation projects carried out around the historical fortified city.

Saying that the historical was endangered due to natural and manmade conditions, Ordin stated that activities undertaken to preserve and develop the historical fortified city yielded promising results in safeguarding the world heritage site.

The fortified UNESCO inscribed historic town of Harar which was 13th and 16th centuries is located in the eastern part of Ethiopia particularly in Harari Regional State, 525 km from the capital of Addis Ababa.
