Grand Mufti urges Muslims to value COVID 19 precautions while celebrating Eid Al-Adha
Addis Ababa, July 29, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council has urged Muslims to adhere to COVID 19 precautions while observing the 1441st Eid Al Adha festival.
President of Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council, Grand Mufti Haji Oumer Idris called up of Muslim faithful in Ethiopia to adhere to religious principles and precautions set by the government to curtail the spread of the pandemic while celebrating the Eid Al Adha Holiday.
In his statement on the 1441st Eid Al Adha Holiday on coming Friday, the Grand Mufti called on the Muslim community to play its share in preventing the spread of the pandemic among the society by celebrating the holiday at home.
The Grand Mufti Haji Oumer Idris has urged Muslims to celebrate the Eid-ul-Adha at home just as they did during the Eid-Al-Fitr.
Prayers and related religious activities have to be practiced in line with COVID-19 safety protocols especially during the festive occasion, the Grand Mufti stressed.
He also requested the faithful to show kindness and compassion for those who are in need.
Muslims are requested to visit patients share what they have to the vulnerable while celebrating the Eid Al-Adha holiday.
The Grand Mufti Haji Oumer Idris has extended his happy wishes to all Muslims on the celebration of the 1441st Eid Al-Adha holiday.
