Gov’t ready to welcome, support Qatari investors: State Minister

Addis Ababa, December 14, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, together with Ms. Lelise Neme, Chief Commissioner for Ethiopian Investment Commission and Faisal Aliyi, Ethiopian Ambassador to the State of Qatar held talks with Mr. Mansur Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, the CEO of Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) in Doha.

The discussions touched up on advancing cooperation in priority areas such as agriculture, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, telecom, logistics and transport, mining and tourism.

Ambassador Mesganu reiterated his government’s readiness to welcome and support Qatari enterprises to invest and take advantage of the investment and business opportunities in Ethiopia.

For her part, Commissioner Lelise extended a warm invitation to Qatari investors to consider investing in Ethiopia and reassured EIC’s commitment to facilitating and fostering a conducive environment for Qatari investments in Ethiopia.

Both sides exchanged views on ways of strengthening cooperation between EIC and QIA as well as scaling up collaboration between Qatari and Ethiopian economic partnership.
