Gov’t praises demonstrators for supporting Ethiopia’s nat’l interest

Addis Ababa, March 16, 2020 (FBC) –The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has described as encouraging the rallies that were held in the US and Europe by Ethiopians denouncing the misinformation and foreign interference.

In his weekly press briefing today, Ambassador Dina Mufti, Spokesperson of the Ministry, thanked the demonstrators for their support for the national interest of their country of origin.

Regarding the humanitarian support in the Tigray regional state, the Spokesperson said food and non-food items have been distributed for more than 4.2 million people.

In his briefing, Ambassador Dina also gave explanation about major activities carried out in the past week, including the visit of ambassadors and diplomats to the regional state.

Last week, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Demeke Mekonnen, had discussions with his foreign counterparts and Addis Ababa-based ambassadors.

According to him, a total of 888 Ethiopian have returned home from Saudi Arabia last week and more than 150 Ethiopians are also scheduled to return from Yemen today.
