Gov’t: About 108,000 citizens receive humanitarian aid since Pretoria peace agreement
Addis Ababa, November 10, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Disaster Risk Management Commission has formed four teams to coordinate and accelerate the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid, said the FDRE Government Communication Service.
Selamawit Kasa, the Minister of State for the Federal Government Communication Service held a media briefing on current national issues.
In her statement, the Minister of State stated that following the Pretoria peace agreement, various humanitarian support and rebuilding works are being carried out in different areas.
In addition to the Afar Ab’ala Corridor, the Gondar-Debark-Shire and the Woldia-Kobo-Alamata routes have been reopened for humanitarian aid delivery, Selamawit said.
According to the Minister of State, food assistance has been provided to more than 108,000 citizens since the peace agreement.
She added that more than 16,000 quintals of wheat grain has been delivered to those citizens so far, as reported by EBC.
