Gov’t committed to bring to a peaceful resolution the issue of OLA Shene: PM Abiy

Addis Ababa, March 28, 2023 (FBC) – Addressing the issues raised by parliamentarians, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated that the Government of Ethiopia is highly committed to bring to a peaceful resolution the issue of the OLA Shene.

“Our security sector is also on guard to ensure that no further bloodshed occurs while pursuing the path of dialogue,” the Prime Minister said.

Over the past two months, over 10 consultations have been conducted as part of the efforts to resolve the situation peacefully, the Premier indicated.

The peaceful call forwarded to OLA Shene by the Oromia Region has been conducted in line with the decision passed by the ruling party, he noted.

A committee to oversee the activities to resolve the situation with OLA Shene has been established, it is indicated.
