Gondar City set to construct state-of-the-art boarding school with 1 bln birr investment

Addis Ababa, January 12, 2025 (FMC) – Gondar City is set to receive a cutting-edge boarding school, backed by an investment exceeding 1 billion birr. A substantial allocation of 225 million birr has already been secured for the initial phase of construction.

The project will be completed in three phases, with over 600 million birr necessary for the first stage. Dashen Brewery has stepped up to contribute 225 million birr for this critical phase, reaffirming its commitment to supporting various sectors in the region.

Chalachew Dagnew, the Deputy Mayor of Gondar City, praised the brewery’s involvement, highlighting its role in advancing educational transformation in the city. The city administration has also earmarked 4.6 hectares of land for the new boarding school’s construction.
