Global meeting on enhancing sustainability of investment for vaccine Mfg underway in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, June 27, 2023 (FBC) – Global meeting on Enhancing Sustainability of Investment for Vaccine Manufacturing in Africa by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), African Center for Diseases Control (AfricaCDC) and African Vaccine Manufacturing Initiative (AVMI Africa) started today in Addis Ababa.
It is being attended by African countries European Commission, German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ)
team Europe, pharmaceuticals manufacturers from many countries and many other stakeholders, according to the Minister of Health, Ethiopia, Dr. Lia Taddese.
In a note published on her Twitter page, the Minister said that enhancing Africa’s vaccine manufacturing is key for both continental and global resilience.
“Great discussion on investing on ecosystems like regulatory and workforce capacity, strengthening AMA, market shaping, tech transfer beyond fill and finish, and WHO PQ,” she added.
