Ginchi-II substation inaugurated
Addis Ababa, March 20, 2021 (FBC) –Chief Administrator of Oromia regional state, Shimeles Abdisa has inaugurated today the Ginchi-II substation which was built with $8.4 million.
Built in Genchi town, the 230/15KV substation is fitted with two 50 megavolt ampere transformers and has the capacity to carry 100MW electric power.
Some 85% of construction cost of the project was covered by the French Development Agency (FDA), while the remaining 15% was allocated by the government of Ethiopia.
The construction of the project was carried out by Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), an Indian multinational technology and engineering company. The German and Swiss MVV Energie were consulting firms.
