Gilgel-Beles – GERD road project inaugurated

Addis Ababa, June 29, 2022 (FBC) – The Defense Engineering Main Division has inaugurated the Gilgel-Beles – Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam road project.

The 210km road that connects Gilgel-Beles with the GERD site has been completed ahead of the schedule, it is stated on the inaugural ceremony.

Commander of the Defense Engineering Main Division, Lt.-Gen Desta Abiche and Representative of the CEO of the Ethiopia Electric Power, Belachew Kassa have attended the inauguration ceremony.

The road is said to have a paramount importance in reducing time needed to transport inputs for the construction of the dam.
