Germany commends TVET colleges-companies network in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, May 24, 2022 (FBC) – Ambassador of Germany to Ethiopia Stephan Auer met with entrepreneurs from Jijiga town, Somali Region.

During his field visit to Somali region, Ambassador to Ethiopia Stephan noted: “It is impressive what can be achieved if the private sector and vocational schools work together.”

Creating pathways into employment, the Ethio-German Qualifications and Employment Prospects for Refugees and Ethiopians Programme supports the establishment of networks between public vocational colleges and local companies to facilitate in-company experiences for vocational training graduates, it is stated.

Graduates gain on-the-job experience and the companies enjoy easy recruitment processes through network.

“So far, over 400 partnerships were created across Ethiopia to facilitate the first work experience for vocational training graduates.” According to Germany Embassy in Addis Ababa.
