Four corridors selected for electric bus pilot run in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa, January 24, 2022 (FBC) – Addis Ababa City Administration Transport Bureau announced that it has selected four corridors nearer to Shegole Dpot for electric bus transpiration service pilot run in the capital.
The Bureau stated that it is working with local and international stakeholders to raise funds for the purchase of electric buses.
The bureau explained that the electric buses will be charged at night and deliver service throughout the day time without any time-wasting.
Addisu Gebeya-Kera, Winget-Ayertena, Legehar-Dil Ber and Autobustera-Asko routes are the corridors identified for the pilot run.
Their distance from the depot, their connection to the BRT corridors and their nearness to market places are the criteria for selecting the corridors, the Bureau stated.
According to information obtained from the bureau, the electric bus service will be expanded to other districts of the capital after the survey study is concluded.
