Former U.S. diplomat thanked Ethiopia for continued cooperation with his country
Addis Ababa, April 24, 2023 (FBC) – The former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Africa and Ambassador to Ethiopia, Tibor Nagy, has thanked Ethiopia for its continued cooperation with his country.
Following the evacuation of its personnel from Khartoum, the U.S. government has issued a statement, thanking its allies for the support provided during the extraction of its diplomats from Sudan amid the ongoing situation in the northeast African country.
The U.S. President, Joe Biden has praised the government of Ethiopia and the Ethiopian National Defense Forces for their support in extracting their personnel “safely out of Khartoum”.
Meanwhile, Tibor Nagy, the former U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia, stated that the people and government of Ethiopia showed solidarity and cooperation with the U.S. time and again.
“[I’m] very grateful for Ethiopia’s support for the evacuation operation. Ethiopia has helped the U.S. over and over in times of need. I recall Ethiopians’ support after 9/11 when I was Ambassador. A true friend”, he wrote on twitter.
