Former African football stars visit GERD

Addis Ababa, June 29, 2024 (FBC) – Former African football stars, who arrived in Ethiopia recently to attend the Shenen African Festival, visited the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) project site earlier today, the Ministry of Tourism disclosed.

The Minister of Tourism, Ambassador Nasise Chali, and the Minister of Irrigation and Lowlands, Abraham Belay, accompanied the former football stars during their tour of the Dam.

On the occasion, the ministers also provided explanations about the construction process and the meaning of the project for Ethiopians.

The former Nigerian star players Nwankwo Kanu and Daniel Amokachi as well as Senegalese Henry Kamara, artists and fashion designers are among those who participated in the visit, the Ministry further confirmed.
