FM Taye urges designate ambassadors to prioritize nat’l interest based on knowledge
Addis Ababa, July 11, 2024 (FBC) – Foreign Affairs Minister Ambassador Taye Atske-silassie urged the newly appointed ambassadors to prioritize national interest based on knowledge.
While opening training for the ambassadors today, Taye said the newly appointed ambassadors are expected to discharge their responsibility in ensuring national interest of the country with knowledge and skill.
He added that being a diplomat involves taking on a higher responsibility of serving the nation.
According to him, the core of diplomatic function is devoted to ensuring the national sovereignty and interest of the country despite any political difficulties.
The Foreign Minister urged the designate ambassadors to serve their country with patriotism, honesty and devotion.
This year’s appointment is unique as all of them are from the ministry of foreign affairs, he said.
The opening ceremony took place in the presence of higher officials from the ministry and pertinent institutions, as reported by ENA.
The training will discuss major national, regional and international issue and run for the coming two weeks with interactive discussion.
