Flood Causes Death, Displacement in Gedeo Zone
Addis Ababa, October 3, 2021 (FBC) – Heavy rainfall in Gedeo Administrative Zone of south Ethiopia caused a death and has displaced 39 households. The households consist of 156 family members.
This heavy rain, yesterday, caused flooding in Chito, Domarsona, and Buduksa Kebeles of Yirga Chefe District in the zone.
Yirgachefe District Administrator, Yohannes Tadesse, said the displaced people are now sheltered in neighboring areas, and humanitarian supplies are reaching them.
The administrator advised residents in the district to be cautious of similar incidents. That is according to a report by Gedeo Zone Government Communications Office.
