First humanitarian convoy to enter Tigray for two weeks arrives in Mekelle

Addis Ababa, July 12, 2021 (FBC) – The first humanitarian convoy of WFP to enter Tigray for two weeks has arrived in Mekelle city.

WFP expressed need to continue delivering 1000 metric tons of life-saving food on 40 trucks a day to Tigray to meet the emergency food needs of 2.1 million people.

WFP-led convoy is making steady progress on its way to Tigray to deliver lifesaving cargo and address the humanitarian need in the region.
