Finland pledges continued support to Ethiopia in strengthening digital learning in TVET sector
Addis Ababa, June 27, 2024 (FBC) – Ambassador of Finland to Ethiopia, Sinika Antila and her delegation consulted with officials of the Federal Technical and Vocational Training Institute (TVTI) on how to reinforce digital learning in the sector.
During the discussion held under the theme “Capacity Building for Modernizing TVET Pedagogy in Ethiopia (MOPEDE) Project”, Ambassador Sinika Antila stated that the Government of Finland is committed to jointly working with the federal institute to promote digital education and training in Ethiopia.
Director General of TVTI, Biruk Kedir (PhD), for his part, expressed optimism that the project would help strengthen quality of training by introducing digital learning platform.
The digital infrastructure and blended way of training and learning process realized in partnership with the Finnish Government adds impetus to the efforts of the institute to become a center of excellence in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, Biruk noted.
Finland Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ms Sinikka Antila, told that the two states cooperation has stayed long in sustainable development cooperation like education sector.
Ambassador Sinika Antila stated the Finland and Ethiopia have been enjoying colose cooperation in the education, water supply and agriculture sector since 2017.
