Failure of Aid Trucks to return from Tigray creating Gap on Food Aid: Commission

Addis Ababa, September 22, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Commissioner for the National Disaster Risk Management Mitiku Kassa says the failure of trucks to return from Tigray is hindering the provision of food aid to the region.

According to him, of 466 trucks that entered Tigray for food aid delivery 428 could not get back. As presented by TPLF, shortage of fuel is not the reason for the trucks’ failure to return, Mitiku added.

According to him the consequence will fall on TPLF.

The UN is also to blame for the silence on the matter, Mitiku noted.
