EU states, partners affirm continued support to Ethiopia’s dev’t schemes
Addis Ababa, February 7, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassadors of various European countries and representatives of development partners reaffirmed readiness to continue assistance for Ethiopia’s development scheme.
The FDRE Minister of Agriculture, Girma Amente, conferred with the ambassadors of Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, and the European Union, as well as representatives of the French Development Agency and other development partners.
In the discussion, the Minister said that to modernize the agricultural sector and develop cluster farming, the assistance of development partners plays a significant role.
He also noted that efforts will continue on the on-going and new development engagements, as well introduction of working system to monitor the implementation.
Furthermore, the Minister also confirmed that efforts are afoot on finding financial support to organize smallholding farmers into clusters to develop them as enterprises.
For their part, the ambassadors and representatives of development partners pledged that they will continue to strengthen their efforts in supporting the development aspirations of Ethiopia.
The envoys also affirmed that they will support the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the areas affected by conflict and drought.
