EU Special Rep. for HoA appreciates Ethiopia’s commitment to regional peace, stability

Addis Ababa, January 25, 2024 (FBC) – Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held discussions with Annette Weber, the EU Special Representative for the Horn of Africa.

Ambassador Mesganu Arga reaffirmed Ethiopia’s unwavering dedication to collaborating with regional and international entities such as the EU, IGAD, the AU and the UN.

The primary focus of these partnerships is to actively contribute to fostering peace and stability, extending efforts beyond the Horn of Africa sub-region in alignment with broader international community objectives, he said.

During the discussion, Ambassador Mesganu elaborated on the importance of sea access to Ethiopia, emphasizing its legitimate economic, security, and political interests.

Annette Weber, for her part, expressed appreciation for Ethiopia’s steadfast commitment to regional stability, recognizing Ethiopia’s pivotal role in contributing to peace and development in the Horn of Africa.
