EU reiterate continued development and technical assistance to Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, December 9, 2022 (FBC) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, Demeke Mekonen, held a discussion on current issues with the Ambassador of the European Union to Ethiopia and ambassadors member countries of the Union based in Addis Ababa.
The EU Ambassador Roland Kobia expressed full support for the peace accord reached between the Ethiopian government and the TPLF.
He also affirmed that the EU and its member countries will continue to strengthen their development and technical assistance to Ethiopia.
Demeke Mekonnen emphasized that the Government of Ethiopia is dedicated to implementing the Pretoria peace deal.
He stated that the basic services that were interrupted due to the conflict in the northern part of the country are being restored.
According to Demeke, in addition to implementing the peace deal, the Ethiopian Government has been repairing and rebuilding infrastructure in conflict-affected areas.
