Ethiopia’s homegrown economic reform aligns with objectives of FOCAC framework – FM

Addis Ababa, December 19, 2024 (FMC) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Gedion Timothewos, emphasized his country’s alignment of its homegrown economic reform and green economy strategies with the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) framework’s objectives.

The Ethiopian foreign minister made this remark during his meeting with China’s Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Xue Bing, at his office today.

The two sides exchanged views on bilateral, continental and global issues of mutual interest, according to the Ethiopian foreign ministry.

On the occasion, Gedion noted the strong and unwavering Ethiopia-China All-Weather Strategic Partnership and called for China’s continued support to Ethiopia’s pursuit of regional peace and stability.

FM Gedion also underscored Ethiopia’s alignment of its Home-Grown Economic Reform and green economy strategies with the objectives set under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) framework.

Ambassador Xue Bing, on his part, reiterated the high-level achievements of the bilateral ties between Ethiopia and China, underlining the importance of further strengthening this partnership through sustained collaborative efforts.
