Ethiopia’s commitment to quality essential for global competitiveness, says President Taye
Addis Ababa, December 15, 2024 (FMC) – President Taye Atskeselassie highlighted Ethiopia’s commitment to quality as vital for modernization and global competitiveness during the 11th National Quality Award program held at the Grand Palace.
He emphasized the importance of adhering to quality standards within manufacturing and service sectors to enhance the quality of life and support developmental goals. The President stated that sustainable quality improvement is essential for competing in the global market.
“Quality is the main criterion for our competitiveness,” President Taye stressed, as he urged institutions to prioritize high standards. He acknowledged that quality infrastructure is key to Ethiopia’s aspirations for development and prosperity.
Samuel Kifle, Acting President of Addis Ababa University, reinforced the need for a culture of quality in Ethiopia, asserting that investment in quality leads to long-term gains for institutions. The Ethiopian Quality Award Organization aims to promote a culture of quality to benefit the public and foster national development.
