Ethiopia’s campaign to BeatPollution officially launched
Addis Ababa, March 29, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s campaign to #beatpollution has launched in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh and other high level officials.
In his opening remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen said: “Living in harmony with nature key to alleviate poverty.”
Apart from the Green Legacy Initaitive, Ethiopia has been aggressively working on river side development, Bounty of the Basket initiative and urban agriculture to protect the environment.
Director General of the Ethiopian Environmental Protection Authority, Lelise Neme, stated that the campaign aims at tackling environmental challenges and building a cleaner and cleaner future.
The Director General expressed government’s commitment to working towards a pollution-free environment.
