Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Kenya pays tribute to the late Mwai Kibabi
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Meles Alem has paid tribute to the former President of the Republic of Kenya, Emilio Stanley Mwai Kibaki CGH, at the Parliament Buildings where the body of the former President is lying-in-State for public viewing.
Upon signing the Book of Condolences in memory of Mzee Kibaki, Ambassador Meles Alem noted that the late President played a pivotal role in the signing of the Special Status Agreement (SSA), laying the foundation for the LAPSSET Corridor Project and the Moyale One-Stop-Border-Post (OSBP).
He said, former President Kibaki was instrumental in elevating the multifaceted Ethio-Kenyan diplomatic relations, especially in the areas of economic integration and infrastructural development as exemplified by the aforementioned milestones.
The body of former President Emilio Mwai Kibaki will be lying-in-State in Parliament for three days from today Monday, 25th to Wednesday, 27th April, ahead of the State Funeral Service on Friday, 29th April at Nyayo National Stadium and burial at his Othaya home on Saturday, 30th April 2022.
