Ethiopia’s 4th Green Legacy Initiative led tree planting campaign launched
Addis Ababa, June 21, 2022 (FBC) – The fourth round Green Legacy Initiative of Ethiopia has kicked off at Gulele Botanic Garden in Addis Ababa.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister Demeke Mekonnen and Agriculture Minister Oumer Hussien have attended the launching of the tree planting.
Ethiopia has finalized preparations to plant 6 billion trees in this rainy season. In a recent statement, Prime Minister Abiy said Ethiopia will accomplish its four year plan set to 20 billion trees till 2022.
The Prime Minister said last week at a parliament that Ethiopia has already planted 18 billion trees with participation of 20 million citizens during the last three years.
