Ethiopians sweep the 10,000m women’s race at Budapest World Athletics

Addis Ababa, August 19, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian women athletes sweep all the top 3 medals at the 2023 World Athletics.

Gudaf Tsegay storms to the gold medal clocking 31:27.18 after a dramatic finale.

Letesenbet Gidey (31:28.16) and Ejgayehu Taye (31:28.31) complete the sweep for Ethiopia as they clinched silver and bronze medals, respectively.

Moreover, Lamecha Girma and Getnet Wale won their respective heats in the men’s 3000m steeplechase earlier today and qualify for the final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.
