Ethiopians living in Russia and Belarus denounce foreign interference in Ethiopia’s internal affairs
Addis Ababa, March 11, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopians living in Russia and Belarus have denounced interference of foreign countries and international organizations into Ethiopia’s internal affairs.
Members of the Diaspora community in the two countries have discussed the latest developments in Ethiopia and condemned the treasonous acts of the TPLF Junta which they called a betrayal that jeopardized nation’s sovereignty.
Recent statements being issues by some countries and international organization are violating sovereignty of Ethiopia for they are not in commensurate with the reality on the ground appreciating government’s commitment in effectively addressing humanitarian situation in Tigray.
They said that the renegade group has hired lobbyists and bribed international organizations that are now in partisanship with it in issuance of partial statements and distribution of misinformation to mislead the international community regarding the situation in the country.
Members of the Diaspora also called up on international community and friends of Ethiopia to filter out fake news targeting Ethiopia and its people and support rehabilitation and rebuilding efforts of the government.
Referring to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), Diaspora members further urged the international community to respect Ethiopia’s rights to utilize its natural resources to lift its peoples out of poverty.
Founder and President of Union of African Diasporas (UAD), Professor Zenebe Kinfu Tafesse said members of the Diaspora have issued a statement that urges foreign countries and organizations to refrain from interfering in Ethiopia’s internal affairs and plead the world community to support humanitarian activities in the country.
